3D/4D Ultrasound

Southeast Medical Imaging is excited to offer 3D 4D ultrasound. This new, state-of-the-art ultrasound system provides physicians and their patients with real-time 3D images. Primarily used for obstetrics, abdominal and vascular ultrasound exams, our 3D 4D ultrasound system provides high quality imaging which improves confidence in diagnoses and overall patient treatment. 4D imaging gives additional views for improved patient management and expectations.

4D technology may be especially helpful in maternal fetal medicine because physicians can use it to facilitate diagnosis of fetal malformations and to improve communication with neonatal specialists and parents. With 4D imaging, the ability to image fetal anatomy using the 3D surface rendering is very helpful to illustrate and explain the development of the fetus to expectant patients. Additionally, 4D imaging may also provide physicians with a more complete view of the uterus or breast. It could be also be used during interventional procedures such as 4D needle-guided biopsies.

In addition to enhanced image quality, this technology helps physicians and technicians improve a patient's overall exam experience, and possibly shorten exam time.

64 Slice CT

Southeast Medical Imaging's new 64 Slice CT scanner improves diagnosis and treatment of patients by providing the finest image quality while reducing x-ray dose to the patient. Its innovative design provides optimal patient comfort by eliminating the closed-in feeling which patients sometimes associate with CT scanning. Our CT scanner provides us with outstanding diagnostic information by enabling us to perform Multi-slice CT on a routine basis.

For example, we can now scan geriatric, pediatric and trauma patients in a single breath hold, which results in more accurate diagnosis while also reducing examination time and increasing patient comfort. It allows us to take care of our patients in the best way and in a patient friendly environment.

Specifically, the 64 Slice CT can assist with:

• Detecting strokes, head injuries, herniated discs, abscesses
• Locating fractures
• Determining the extent of bone and soft tissue damage in trauma patients; in such cases it is especially helpful to have an imaging procedure which allows a fast first diagnosis
• Diagnosing changes in various organs
• Diagnosing or excluding diseases
• Looking into the coronary arteries without having to introduce a catheter
• Viewing a true-to-detail three dimensional images of the inside of the heart and other parts of the body
• Performing a virtual endoscopy - a computer aided flight through blood vessels and cavities in the body and that can view the condition of the intestinal walls

The 64 Slice CT also allows Southeast Medical Imaging to expand diagnostic services to substantially more patients in the region than ever before.
